During the 2025-26 season, the KSO celebrates its 31st consecutive year offering free education programs to students and schools throughout NKY and Greater Cincinnati.

The orchestra alternates the programs “Getting to Know You” (an introduction to instruments of the orchestra) with “Back in My Day” (the history of the orchestra and its music). This year’s “Back in My Day” program, for grades 3 -6, will be held at Seven Hills Church in Florence, KY where students may attend in-person at 10:00 a.m. on either Tuesday, October 21 or Wednesday, October 22, 2025 or classes may register to attend via our live stream.  The KSO will make the concert available virtually for those unable to attend the live-stream.  Both remain free, but registration is required.  When registering please indicate whether you’ll be attending in-person or virtually.

“Rags to Riches” (February 24, 2026; date tentative) is an in-person and live-streamed program for grades 6-12 designed to coincide with Black History Month to trace the roots of America’s popular musical heritage (ragtime, blues and early jazz from 1898 to 1933). The program highlights composers with Cincinnati connections.  Admission is free, but registration is required.  The program will be offer in-person at Seven Hills Church in Florence, KY.  Classes may register to attend via our live stream.
