“The Rhythm is Gonna Get You” (7:30 Saturday, August 30, 2008)
In 2007 the KSO offered a Kenton-esque Latin jazz concert for a few hundred people indoors.
As our musicians are the last of a generation who performed with and/or were mentored by
the greats of the 50s and 60s, we figured we should share this high octane music with an
audience of several thousand in the park.
Chuck Mangione "Children of Sanchez" (1979)
Lalo Schifrin Latin Jazz Suite (1998)
Johnny Richards Cuban Fire Suite (1956)
Ernesto Lecuona "Malaguena" (1961)
